Common questions

What is PV fabric?
A woven cloth made from a polyester and viscose blended yarn. Polyester gives crease retention and shade repeatability; viscose gives hand and drape. It is the standard cloth for formal trousers, suiting and uniforms across India.
Is PV fabric the same as poly-viscose?
Yes. PV, poly-viscose and polyester-viscose are the same blend under different names.
Is PV fabric good for Indian weather?
It is the volume choice for Indian formalwear because it holds a crease through heat and humidity and dries quickly. For peak summer the question is weight rather than blend.
Is PV fabric breathable?
Less than pure cotton, more than pure polyester. Viscose is the breathable half, and weight and construction change this as much as the blend ratio does.
How do I judge PV fabric quality?
Handle the card. Look at evenness across the width, how the cloth recovers after you crush it in your fist, and whether the shade holds under more than one light. Then ask whether the mill can reweave that shade in six months.
